Explore surveys is a member of the Alberta Land Surveyors Association and the Alberta Construction Association.

Equipment

Explore Surveys recognizes the importance of minimizing downtime and optimizing field crew efficiency. We believe that this may be accomplished, in part, by ensuring the equipment used is up to date, in good repair and that spare parts are on site. As such, field crews drive new 4x4’s, utilize Magellan GNSS RTK systems (capable of tracking both GPS and GLONASS satellite constellations), carry two types of pipe locators and a host of spare batteries, cables and other common parts that might breakdown in the course of a survey.

In order to help optimize efficiency, every field truck is set-up as a virtual office (including phone, laptop with air card, signal booster, printer and scanner).

Safety

Explore Surveys has developed a comprehensive safety program and is in the process of obtaining ENFORM’s SECOR (Small Employer Certificate of Recognition).

In order to control hazards, field crews conduct tailgate meetings at the beginning of each day. If there are any unexpected hazards encountered in the course of the survey, the work is paused and control measures implemented.
